Individualized Lessons to Meet Your Child's Unique Needs
I am a certified teacher with 25 years of experience teaching preschool students through adults. I have worked in both special education and general education settings. My experience includes teaching students with dyslexia and and ADHD in both public schools and the Dyslexia Resource Center.
I have been a reading specialist for the students in grades Kindergarten through sixth and I am skilled at assessing students needs and meeting them at their level. I am also trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach of teaching reading to students with dyslexia and other readers in need of a multi-sensory, sequential, and structured approach to help them achieve their potential in the area of reading. I have utilized this training to help the students that I tutor to significantly increase their reading skills.
In addition, I have taught study skills, organizational skills, test preparation, and time management skills to high school students. I have experience teaching and tutoring students in all areas of special education. I work closely with parents and teachers to help children attain their goals.
My goal is that each child achieve their highest academic potential.

Different learning styles include visual, auditory, tactile, and kinesthetic.

Many times when a student is falling behind in school it is due to a lack of the proper tools necessary to study successfully. I can help your child improve his or her study skills, organiztionsl skills, time management, and test preparation skills so that they can be successful at school. I also offer homework assistance and homeschool assistance.
